Oh the sinking feeling when I woke up at 5am on Sunday and could see that it was far too light for that time of morning. Creeping to the window I peeked out and yes - several inches of snow had indeed fallen over night. First thought - oh no, how am I going to get the car out and get up the yard. By 8.30 I realised that I wasn't so a quick call to our livery yard to see if anyone could help. Fortunately they are very helpful and had already fed Amy and were ready to take her down to the field for me as they guessed I would have a problem. I managed to get there mid afternnoon to muck out and fetch her back in - she was ready and hungry - couldn't understand where the grass had gone suddenly.
Another big fall of snow overnight last night so same routine today. At least she is clean as there is a good covering of snow.
Not fun walking on it though and driving up the lane to the yard is exciting - especially if you meet anyone coming the other way.
Looks like we are in for at least a week of it, so no riding.
